almost ready to go

Did you use a plasma torch to cut the metal? I like them, that probably saved you $500 or more. I made 2 myself, but their both pretty heavy. Next project is to learn how to weld aluminum, maybe this winter.

Take care,

tb

Just learned to weld aluminum in the last 2 days, Mig welder with aluminum kit and Argon gas and practice. Go for it

Pretty work Norm,
Looks like you fast tracked the learning curve, nice job.
Thanks again for the welding info,
Parkerized

I always commend someone who can do something that I can't and building scoops like that is one of them. :clapping:

My only constructive observation is that the big scoop might not drain the sand fast enough with the size and amount of holes that you currently have.

Have you tried it out, hey I could be wrong !!

Good hunting,
Tony :ausflag:

Tony, that big one was built about 2 months ago, it does fine with the draining in the water but it is heavy, thats why I built the smaller ones, the one not finished is going to be half-moon shaped, had a stainless one like that and it worked well. Im always trying something new. I made it but had to pay to get it welded, thats why I now have learned to weld on my own.
