Almost lost my shovel in the woods

Walked more than 300 feet before I noticed it wasn't hanging on my belt and nearly panicked. Backtracked the best I could and when I was within 10 feet of it I saw it in the weeds at the edge of the woods. The entire shovel was brown, made it hard to see. Today I painted the handle black and white and added the red soft plastic grip. Gotta be easier to spot from a distance if that happens again. Four years ago I lost my pinpointer in a park, never got it back. Now I have my name, phone number, and $25 reward on this one.

about two months ago.and did not find it.. had to buy another.....

I'm a little more careful now..LOL

Bright handles on my digger, coiled, plastic lanyard hooked to my pinpointer and belt has kept me from losing them.

Bright yellow sign sheeting strip on my pinpointer!!!! its is easy to to see now if I lay it down.

A friend of mine has lost two Lechie shovels. I have lost 2 dive knives and where I lost them it is impossible to go against the current.

The only thing I have actually lost is a screw driver coin probe. However I have spent way too much time re-tracing my tracks looking for my digging tool or coin probe.

Now when am finished digging, I got through a mental check list to make sure everything is accounted for before moving on.

Works for me.

Florescent orange paint on all my digging equipment. Makes it easy to find in daylight and after dark.
