Almost gold

Dug 40 coins (9 were nickels) and these 2 rings today. They both looked like possible gold. The skinny one isn't stamped other than the size.

The other one had a couple rubies in it till I washed it. It sure was beginning to look like gold & then I saw a bunch of stamps. This is when it gets you going because stamped words/numbers frequently mean good. At first I saw 10 K (excitement building) but further viewing through the magnifier showed 10K HGF :( Heavy gold filled. It is basically junk metal that's been gold plated - just heavier plating than usual.

Oh well - at least there's more possible gold waiting for me.

all rings are welcome in my book. Hope the next one is all gold!

I'm with Mike on that. All rings are good finds to me. Congratulations.

Well, two rings though cheap is digging closer to finding the real gold....I pray it won't be too long until you find some more of the real thing and silver, too! Keep cool if you are able to do so! God Bless! Ma
