Almost forgot Do your machines work better when the ground is wet/damp

Seems like after a good rain mine works "better"?. I've been working an old home site that's got iron and nails like a carpet. Made better than usual finds after a good rain. Just was wondering if yall had exp this.

I think most of us would agree that detecting seems better in damp ground. Certainly makes for easier digging too.

Tom Dankowski over in CZ Land has pointed out results will be different with ground moisture.

Ferrous targets may hit a little harder when damp. Good news if you are relic hunting!
Otherwise, it could cause masking if you are searching for non-ferrous targets.

If you have problems with too many nails, try the site again when soil is dryer.

Once again, the best information all points to 'No site is ever hunted out completely!'
