Almost didn't dig it... Glad I did!

I got out for a short half hour hunt today. Had permission to hunt the yard in front of a house that was built in 1918. I was getting very annoyed with those pesky copper pennies from the 70's ringing up at a consistent 12:42-12:43 @ 5"! I decided to just dig it all to clear the yard out in hopes of un masking the deep stuff. So I flipped my plug fully expecting to see another penny when all of the sudden I get a glimmer of silver in the hole. BIG silver! Yessssss! 1952 Bengi. Love surprises like that! And then..... Nothin... Like one wheat. Strange yard.

Yea that's the way to do it can't pass them up dug to many Indians at 3 to 4 inches thinking they were zincets. sube

Wow! Persistence and determination paid off very nicely! I haven't ever dug a Half or a Dollar yet in 7 years.

I'm headed north this weekend to hunt with the brother-in-law. He has some new spots and I'm going to re-visit some spot we "cleaned out" with our E-tracs. I'm hoping the CTX proves itself in those "Hunted out" spots.

Yup, I know... Weird huh? It must have had some garbage in there or maybe it was on edge. I've been hunting in ferrous coin and using my user button to toggle over to high trash. I like to do that because on bigger targets in high trash separation halves and dollars ring up in the 01:45.

That seems very low. Hmmmmm.

Very nice find, solid two way tones you just never know. It's funny how we think we know what it is, but....that's why we dig :beers:

Those number will fool ya. The same thing happened to me this morning except I thought I was digging a clad dime, 12-44. There was nothing else in the hole

1935 walker @ 3 inches.
