Thinking back on all I've learned here, the amazing people I've met, the fun, advice, PM's, yes and even prayers sent out in trying times...Thank you Elton for moderating our Forum and protecting me from myself!.

Thank you Mr Bill for this wonderful electronic campfire for us to gather after a hunt!

Thank you Dave J. for your compassion and skills that have opened up a New Wonderful World to us, my Brothers here in the 'Fellowship of the Ping'... You are our heartbeat, our ally, our Brother that has made swinging one of your creations a truly life changing experience!

I find a deep Peace here within this Fellowship and Forum that cannot be replicated. I look forward to seeing everyone's success and satisfaction here as we hunt metal in our race against time.

I will say this, I was always interested in getting a detector, but life and all got in the way until @5yrs ago...so on a whim, I went to a local distributor, I didnt know an Ace 250 from a Minelab, I didnt know a scoop from a lesche!...He listened to me, thought a moment, and reached for a dusty F70 on the shelf, He said the F70 was a 'sleeper', not a lot of press or visibility or respect out there in the Detecting World, but its hot as hell! a light, fast and a clean rig...

So off I went with big dreams of striking it rich! First hunt I found 7 cents down in the gravel at the boatramp!! Hmmm, cool, but still..and so I read the owners manual and ran in AT for nearly a year until I found this Forum and commenced to learn about settings and whatnot....also about using your ears instead of your eyes and all that...DP tones are really something!

And so I stalked and tried to pattern our brother poster Zeekeyes, knocking down huge clad with 'soft' F70 settings...I figured if some old guy who's 112 could do it, I should be able to run circles around him! And thus commenced my education! I somehow had the coccamamie notion that anybody worth half a damn should be able to find at least $50 clad per day in a few hours...so I set myself to that goal!

It took a long time to realize there were other benefits to this Sport than just money...like this Fun chatter here on a cold Saturday in January...

The F70 is my first love and steady companion on the dirt...this Forum really is a wealth of info sharing place...I dont know how the old guys learned detectors and got by without such a tool back in the day....deep years of knowledge, freely shared..amazing fellowship as we spur each other on to greatness!..

Hey IB...truth be told, I never thought I'd see double nickel (55)!...had I known, I'd a taken better care of myself!

Zeek is really something with his 70...he is a great hunter and writes a fabulous post...I always bust his chops about his age, not to be mean, but to highlight what a guy can do with this amazing 70 rig set up 'soft' and sweeping fast.....

Zeek was the one who inspired me to attempt a 10,000 coin/yr milestone...screwdriver, stoop n stab, quickbrooming format...for that I will ever be thankful! Zeek, if you got your ears on, please jump in and share a bit about your Life and experience with your rig! We got some new guys here that would greatly benefit from your advice, and enjoy reading about it! Hope you are well...
