All this AT Pro talk made me buy an Ace 350:bouncy:

After doing some thinking and I mean thinking!!!! I've decided to go with the Ace 350. This poor machine has been practically forgotten about because of the excitement in turn with the AT-Pro.
This will be my first machine, originally was looking for a machine that would do well near wet sand at the beach (saltwater), and after some good advice realized a machine like that probably would cost $500 more than my $300 budget.
And let me add that, that is why this decision was so tough, in my head I'm saying wow the pro is only 300 more with a ton more features, then I'm thinking 200 more dollars would land an awesome Sovereign GT. Then reality set back in .
I read some nice reviews on the Ace 350 and told myself I'll wait till the AT-Pro beach-combers edition comes out in a few more months "hope ur listening Garrett :) " Thanks again to those who responded on my post before and if anyone has
any more insight or experience on the Ace 350 I'd love to hear it!!!!

works good on the wet zone.....salt.............but only with 2 bars of sensitivity..........as i was told

has some strange sounds for me..........beeps........bongs........bells...........

no finds other than clad so far...........kinda got it for dry zone this summer, but knowing me as i know, could not last that long either.

good luck

I am still in the process of field testing the 350 but weeks of lousy weather have seriously hindered my efforts and at this moment we are in the middle of a snowy cold front with temps in the low teens. The 350 is a great little machine and should satisfy anyone for general hunting. Like the 250 it is a real coin magnet and a piece of cake to pinpoint with and hot on small jewelry or jewelry of any kind especially gold.

Bill.

That is definitely nice to hear. Sounds like a great metal detector for the money.
Hopefully I'll have some success in the wet sand of our beaches here in FL. Don't really plan
on submerging the coil though :)

While your trapped inside you can do some air test with the Ace 350...

ha, ......... just kiddin..

It sounds like you really wanted a beach machine (saltwater).
For your first machine the ACE 350 is not a bad choice ... except for the saltwater part.
You should have held out for the Sovereign GT as the Sovereign's are about the best salt water beach detectors available.
Even an old used Sovereign XS (within your budget) will out perform single frequency machines in salt water ... with the exception of the PI detectors.
I own two of them ... An XS2A and a new GT ... and am always trying new detectors to find something better ... but am still looking.
However, they do take some getting used to as their audio sounds like 17 cats howling under a washtub.
If you can get past that you got it made.
You can set it for mono tone but those frequency's are what contain the discrimination information as to what is under the coil.

I am sure you will like the ACE 350 and no doubt it will pay for itself at the beach.
But ... you are buying a "pig in the polk" so to speak as the ACE 350 is fairly new and there are not many field reports on it yet.
Cant really comment much about it as I chose the AT PRO.

Thanks for all the input so far. I'll let you guys know how the ace 350 works for me and I'm sure I'll hit a lot of other places up besides the beach so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
If I start having any problems or questions along the way I'm sure you guys will be be the first to hear about it. Thanks again and good luck to everyone hunting out there:please:

I am sure you will like the 350. Remember that there is a leaning curve on any new detector in particular your first one. So if you get frustrated just stick with it. You have a detector that is capable of good things and you just need learn how to best use it.

I bought the 350 and it works super!!!

I have only been in this hobby for a few weeks now and the 350 was my first detector. It does take a little getting use to and I am still learning. I have found some really good things in a short amount of time. To date I have found 28 Wheaties, 1 Silver Washington, 3 silver rings, 1 stainless ring, numerous clad coins and memorial pennies, a few tokens, some military buttons, and a late 1800's Postal Telegraph Railroad Button that was over 7" deep. I like my 350 and I'm sure you will like yours too.
