Nearing 150 roof collapses; 10 feet of snow; only one day above normal temps; only 4 detecting days this year and now THIS:

Ice as far as the horizon...pictures taken today February 28th Cape Cod, MA.

That is ocean water...BOY CAN I WALK ON IT! But then I would have to change my username to IceWalker...no thanks that wet salt water below the ice is COLD. If I am not frozen out of the water there is so much sand in / or off the sand dunes all targets are covered. Last 3 hours spent in the water yielded one penny, one sinker and an old 1929 wedding band.

Anyone in warmer waters have room for me? I would have gone to Cancun last week, if it had not been for so many flights cancelled and / or delayed let alone airport parking space.

And the weatherman just said that the Astronomical Spring starts TOMORROW...what about summer?
I give up, back to hibernating, I'll set the alarm for July 4th and hope for the best.

Well, WW there's going to be a spare space here in PCB. I'm a heading home this Thursday. Water's not tropical, but you would only need swim trunks. I got maybe 3 more wades than its back to cabin fever land. Up in Pennsylvania and there's no thaw in sight there either.

Well let me see..... temp today is around 80 and water temp is about 64 with like glass swells. Honey dew list is done and the detector is in the car for a full day with my hunting buddy. Even if you dont find a thing you cant beat one of these kind of days.

Dew

It's for me...buying a ticket to get there...wait a minuet, where are you, what time is the tide?

I want a summer day, anyone swimming down there. I hope, not Texas or Oklahoma freezing rain last night has lots of flights cancelled or delayed. I guess I am not the only one suffering this winter. Bright side: Vancouver BC beaches and weather are even better than here in MA. My friend could not take it anymore, he jumped...

Looks like eastern Europe or Siberia. ..these last 3 winters have been down right brutal... once we get stuck in these patterns every week is just like a carbon copy of the week prior... im fortunate to live a few hundred miles south of you but it aint no bargain here either.. i drove to the jersey shore yesterday...couldnt believe how many of the backbays and marshes were frozen over, i dont think ive ever seen that before..the only thawed place i could find was the surf line... future weather outlook is good for my area..good luck...hang in there...

Outstandingly Awful! Yeah...this is just a mess up here In Michigan too...Big Lake is froze all the way across...in fact, I may just drive across it over to milwaukee its only 60 miles in a straight line!

We gotta figure out something WW!...Its good detecting up North normally, and a guy can pretty much go year round within reason, but not this year,...I think a fellow is gonna have to start chasing the Seasons or else lose a third of their detecting year due to this Global Warming stuff that is stacked up to the rafters..

That wedding band you found gold?
Mud

Hay guys , I feel for ya we in palmetto fla had a cold spell at 59 last week but its a cool 73 now whoops did i say 73 I mean 74 it just went up a degree . Well i guess i'll have to take the infenny for a walk .

I feel for you WW, you guys have really been Hammered! Things are not much better her in the Chesapeake Bay, but you know the

Florida boys can have there warm waters cause we have the old gold...and it is waiting...

Hey Mud, when you drive across the big pond go northeast instead of just east. I can meet you somewhere on the shoreline! Let me know what you driving and I will keep my eyes peeled! I will have cold brewski's and cheese curds waiting!

I have thought about PCB, FL, and many other places and I have to say
"It ALL Suuuuuks" this winter.

Yes, the wedding band was a 1929 and marked 14K.

If it is not the cold and snow it is the sand and heat, red tide, sharks, clam diggers itch, frozen ground...time to head south and take up dirt digging! Ah, but then they have ticks, snakes, poison ivy, rain. And they tell me better days are yet to come. I'll just hibernate and wait.
