I stopped at the Bank where I've been doing business for about 12 years and asked for a roll of the new Dollar coins. The teller said we are all out but we might get some in on Fri. Okay, no problem, I'll go to my other Bank.
I went to my Bank where I have done business for 30 years and asked for a roll of Dollar coins. The woman teller said we don't have any. Being the shy quiet guy that you all know and love I asked her Why? She said all we have is the loose ones we get in change. I said well give me 20 of those and she said I'll have to go get them. We keep them in the safe. While I'm waiting I'm thinking to myself "no wonder there are none in circulation if they don't have them available for the public" She comes back with a fist full of coins and commences to count out 20 Susan B Anthonies. I go WOA I want the new Washington Dollars. She says, we're not getting any of those.
Now I'm ready to call the President.
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??

Come live in Australia all we find here is either $2 or $1 dollar gold coins. If you ever need some spare change just head to a beach or a well used park and you will find enough money to buy some milk, bread and a COFFEE! Yeeeehaaaaa! gota have the coffee! All in about 30 mins. Thats what I love the XT-70 for it just keeps given me money? No one else does....except my boss lol and even then you have to rip the money from his paws.....lol just kidding. Hope you get some of those rare coins mate and by the way I think Bush might be needing all those coins to pay for the war! Hence there being none in circulation. :bouncy:

That has been talked about in the media lately....the only coins that will be purchased are those from collectors. Tax payers money you ask, well actually they are trying to get these dollar coins in circ. as their longevity is 10X better than a paper dollar in the long run cutting circ. budget down. I just don't see Americans buying into the dollar coin thing when paper money is still as prevalent.

Its obvious a government problem only.

We have frequent new coins here and also converting to coins from paper the same rules apply.

The old paper or coin gets a date that it is no longer valid as payment but will be excangeable in banks only.

Problem solved.
