do most of you use all metal and as much sensitivity as you can and ferrous mode? i go all metal and sens at 27 or more if i can , i use as much sens as long as the machine stays stable

Daveo, I'm doing pretty much as you have posted,
only I do switch from Ferr. to Cond. occasionally ...

If it gets to noisy in all metal I will put the 5 inch coil on and creep around until I find something, and I usually do among the trash.

I usually black out the upper left corner (nails) and the lower right corner (bottle tops), hunt in ferrous with sens. as high as it will go and stay stable.

I'm using all metal in very old sites with lots of iron trash.

Manual sensitivity as much as it can take
ferrous - (just looking for old silver coins for now) seems to be working better than conductive

For the first several months I was using normal discrimination but it was always blanking. Now with all metal I feel like I've opened up my detector for the first time and my ears are better at discrimination.
