All metal mode?

What do you mean by true all metal?

Prospecting does use all metal mode. But, there is a SAT (self adjusting threshold) on the input signal which will adjust out a target and get back to the threshold if you stop swinging the loop over the target.. If you wish to turn off the SAT, then you will get the all metal like you get in pinpoint.

Prospecting comes up with one of the live controls being the SAT. If you don't want the SAT, then adjust the SAT down until you see it say off.

You don't have to be in prospect to get all metal. If you like settings with some other program, but want the all metal audio, then zoom on the audio live control. Go down to Search Audio and select All Metal. Adjust the SAT if you so wish - might have to go to the expert menu to do this
(If you have the 6 block menu enabled, press menu/tab twice and scroll down to expert menu).

expert menu/filter & speed/Search and then adjust SAT.

I was wondering since prospecting was put with the rest of the discrimination modes that it might be merely zero discrimination and not a true all metal mode. I could not find the all metal mode in my menus.

To get to the search audio options, you either need to be in the expert menu, or zoom an audio live control. It is not an option in the audio menu in the 6 block menu.

Are you still having trouble finding it, or did my description in the above post work?

(so, if you are in coin & jewelry, move to the Audio level/tone live control button and press zoom/view. Scroll down to Search Audio and press enter. Scroll down to All metal and press enter. Opening up the all metal option (pressing enter again) lets you choose if you want VCO on or off).

All metal in search is an all metal mode with SAT. The ground filters are also running, but do not affect the audio in any way. They are running just to be able to ID the target and display the graph information on the display. Tracking (if enabled) is also still running. In pinpoint (trigger pulled) there is no tracking and no SAT.
