I got today free from work as I had a dental app, so early this morning I got up and went out to one on my fav spots.
After hunting in DISC Mode with my Gold Bug Pro all of the time, I decided it was time I tested it out in All Metal Mode.
After getting it all set up (once I found a trash free area that is) I set about the job in hand, I wanted to see how deep this thing would go to find things.
I was pleased to note that it does indeed see deeper in All Metal Mode. I switched back to DISC mode when a good solid target was found and rescanned the area before I dug it up just to see and hear what the object sounded like and to pin point it's exact location.
The All Metal Mode is not like the DISC mode, it's like the detector see's a wider and deeper area area under the coil, when in DISC mode it's surgical, the detection more precise under the coil when objects are found. Also I've noticed that the audio is different, it's hard to explain it in words, you have to hear it to tell the difference.
Anyway, after 90 mins of detecting using the All Metal Mode I came away with $1.59 in clad, most of the clad was over 6" deep. About 20 mins into the hunt I got a good soild hit, in DISC mode it read as penny signal 81 - 82. Silver ring number 7 for the year !
I'm going back there later this afternoon to see what else I can find.
