here in Independence county to help the homeless and displaced people that are arriving Sunday or Monday. All church camps are opening up to recieve families. Food and basic necessities are being donated and gathered. My church parsonage is going to be home for a family. I can't imagine what the poor souls are gong through, losing everything and starting over. My prayers are with them. God bless.
 
ONE GUY RAPED & killed a 7yr.old girl...thank god about 10 guys beat him to death (reminds me of venezuela).one guy took a natIonal guard's gun away from him and killed him with it..both things happened in the dome.three truck loads of food was parked at the civic center in monroe la.ahead of the displaced persons. all was stolen by the local blacks.the police caught some of the gang members.
 
supposed to get 12 evacuees sometime soon.(we have a small church and will be housing them in the basement classrooms.) I haven't heard for sure , but I'm thinking that we'll probably cancel our junior high "youthquake" at Camp Ozark in Sept. It is a pretty large camp with a nice size dining hall.

One of our members lost one of her grandchildren and still hasn't heard from 2 of her kids that live in New Orleans. Please keep Ellen and her family in your prayers.

Our detecting club meets in Jennings but I don't go as I cannot see to drive very well at night and my car gives me problems, so I don't drive very far with my 1977 Mercury Monarch!

Where do you and your wife live?

Carol and I live in Benton, Arkansas, but one of our daughters lives in Ferguson and the other in Overland.

Let me ask you a question---Does your club keep you busy with detecting and would you recommend joining one?

I couldn't afford the yearly cost because of my low SS Income and too many bills to pay! My friend, Liz, who lives in Spanish Lake, paid the club dues for me for one year in July for my birthday! A real blessing indeed! I don't go to the club meetings any more as I don't have a good car to drive and I can't see at night to drive, and I live quite a ways from the meeting place in Jennings, MO! I used to be the secretary in the 80's, but after the divorce and having to work I quit as secretary and then quit the club about 3-4 years ago! I can attend the annual club hunt this month as my friend really wants me to go and for us to see each other again! They have coins and tokens planted for nice prizes and etc. I don't find a lot as not as fast at detecting as most of the men and some women, but usually find a few nice silver coins and maybe a token or two! Enjoy the day and each person brings a dish for the pot luck meal that the club has!

You might try it for awhile and if you don't like it then don't pay the dues and quit! We didn't have to pay to join....just the yearly dues!
