Has anyone else got this problem or am i the only person who digs rubbish . I have found nothing much but pull tabs and iron washers .

I would love to be able to say that I never dig trash but unfortunately as they say "that's the life of a Hollywood stunt man". In most of the places that I hunt you have to dig a certain amount of trash to get to the good stuff. Some days I dig nothing but trash. If you resign yourself to dig only solid hits you can miss some good targets.
Good Luck and HH

Do you have a coin garden?

If not, put some coins on some clean ground (make sure nothing is in the ground where you are going to lay the coins on the ground about a foot of so apart.

Next see where the coins hit (I use smart screen). Lift the coil and see how they hit at their extreme limits.

Every now and then a bottle cap will fool me. Also, for me anyway, to find gold rings I have to dig pull tabs.

This morning I did dig some trash copper. But you almost have to do that to find the copper coins.

Thanks for your advice. I have now started detecting and hunting stubble fields in the middle of no where! real far out places, i have done a lot better that parks and i am now finding older non ferrous bits.

Gold Rings 2 this month, and old coins...approx 200 this month....Jewelry....only 2 pieces of silver this month.....
Only 1- silver coin???
Oh yea...did I mention Trash....I dug
160 Pull Tabs, 71- Bottle caps, and 42 pieces of aluminum cans...
But I'm $520.00 richer for doing so.

This was a good month, but the moral of this true story is "You got dig some trash to find some Treasure!"

And the truth is is your not finding trash...Your not raising all the treasure you could be finding!

When I go out for the first hour OR two I Will dig every hit. When I start getting tired I get more selective. Next time out I go back to the place where I started to get selective and start digging every hit again repeating this process until I have covered the whole area. By doing it this way I keep getting coins and sometimes get a really big surprise

Or at least gives you a good idea...Audio, digital display along with the target crosshair should give you a good idea..dimes and above especially silver should be easy but unfortunately gold rings and the junk that mimic them come in from low foil to Zinc and one has to dig a lot of junk unless he finds a way to cut the odds..Time to start running some coins and gold rings under yur coil to give you some ballpark indications especially in the gold ring area..Takes time my friend and time in the field under actual conditions is where its at..
