All day Hunt with Dad

My dad and i hit the club site in the morning. Picked up 6 mercs and half dollar. Then we went real detecting in the afternoon. We hit the river site and I pulled out those 2 buffalo from the same hole. 1925 and 1924 got a few wheats there, my dad a war nickel. Then we went to this little known abandon type kids nature park. Lots of wheats, my dad gets a 52 quarter right where i was just standing. Then i get a 59 dime. A really neat park it was definatly like a woods hunt lots o leaves and sticks and big slabs of rock. Kind of lick a big hole with different levels going up the sides. Picured are my 9 wheats buffalo and 1956 dime. We got 20 wheats between the two of us and the day just flew by. Me and my dad could care less about newer coinage were trying to get the old stuff and silver. Wish i could do this everyday. Hunting with others is more productive. Whenever i hunt with people i seem to find more and so do they.

Nice finds. The older coins are great.

Sweet findings, all the more so as it was with your dad.

You make me wish I had a partner. I only know one bloke and he wont share his hunts - at least not with me.

For now, Im eschewing the older stuff for trying to pull up quantity numbers. I have a box full of the older stuff, which just sits on the shelf. So, I guess Ill try something new for awhile.

Yeah I really miss my partner - my wife. She was my hunting partner, fishing partner, detecting partner, everything partner until she was struck down by MS. Believe me she really misses the detecting as she found her share of neat stuff. I had a buddy of mine who was my partner in later years but he up and moved to Montana.
