Alkaline Battery Pac ?

Active member
I was wondering for us guy's with the starter pacs that didn't come with alkaline pacs are they available at Minelab or on back order? Thanks.

n/t

I am using mine for another rechargable pack. Just going to need to cut some plastic to fit. I have not selected the battery yet. I want to put the biggest Mah for the cavitiy! I am thinking 400Mah will fit which is 60 ma bigger that the 34wa battery supplied.

Curious - Does storing batteries in the pack decrease their life at all? I understand there is no draw but since they are in a circuit I wonder if there is a slight leakage or the like?

Thx,
Albert

Yes. From the minute batteries are created the begin to loose their ability to charge and discharge properly. Rechargeable or disposable doesn't matter. Its a matter of science. Using them accelerates this feat but it will happen to batteries that are never used as well.

Thx Gemini - I am using Enyloop rechargeables and they lose their charge VERY slowly. They are still up there a year later.
What I was asking was do batteries lose their charge MORE in the alkaline pack compared to being stored separate. Know what I mean?

That's a good question. I would guess yes. Obviously if you were using alkaline batteries you wouldn't want to leave them in due to the possibility of corrosion.

After some tinkering around this is going to be harder than though. Won't happen too soon.
