Yesterday I was at a friend's home. He has a minnie buried at 10". It's been there for 21 years and was testing a few machines on it. FWIW, the E-TRAC had , IMO, the best ID and gave a correct depth. The ET sounded off MUCH better in conductive sounds. I may well have walked over the target in ferrous/2-tones. I could hit it but not nearly as well as in conductive/multi. In C/M it was fluty almost as if it were a couple of inches deep.
The V3 gave the best audio response and was the machine that best alerted me to stop and check it out. I had the 8x6 SEF on it. The VDI was a little jumpy.
The F75 LTD would hit it but would not give a good TID. The LTD didn't hit it well from one direction but hit it soundly from another direction. I suspect the T2 may have done a little better. The Omega 8000 hit it but not really well, I may have walked over it in the real world with the O8K.
The T2 would not turn on... first time this has ever happened. I changed the batteries and still nothing... I don't know if I should open the battery compartment up and see if a wire is loose from the switch, I don't want FT to think I broke it by opening it but if it's a simple fix i'd rather just fix it... I guess I can call them and ask. I hate it because after the last trip to Texas it has been really smooth, really stable... then again i'll get the 6.5 version if I send it in.
When I get it working I intend to get back over there and see what the T2 will do.
Also, I need to say regarding the Omega that my friend also has one and said that his will hit the minnie quite well. So, i'll need to compare mine with his soon.
