Alabama hunters

machinest

New member
I'm New and just found this site.
How many here are from Alabama?
What all web sites to you all go to.
Have any one found any good items?

I live around Madison, AL. Relic hunting is tough around here and you're going to find most people aren't talking.

Machinest,

I have been hunting in NW AL for 5+ years. Use White's products (XLT, DFX and MXT)Most any detector will do a good job, just learn to use what you have well. Found many bullets, and a year ago found a block I button. I really like to do research on the internet and try to find little known campsites.

We have been going around allot of old houses.
some have never had electricity and still have wells.
Still learning the Whites MXT.We have just started detecting.
lots of hot rock and trying to learn to read the machine better.
It seams to jump allot.
But nice to see there are others here in Alabama

Hey,

I am in NW Alabama (Florence area). There are relics scattered throughout this area. The problem is getting someone to let you hunt. Most of the relics south of the river will be Confederate. The Florence area, according to some historians, changed hands between 7 and 9 times. There are more Union relics north of the river. Just do some research and hope you can get permission to hunt.

HH,

George

You'd better check those +95 Hot rock signals- if you can pp them they are usually a good target too deep for the detector to classify- ive found deep 8-10in relics using this trick. if it has a mushy PP then its prob a HR.
