Airtesting a Fisher Classic with small coil

Hey Guys
It's blistering Hot here in Texas, setting records for heat.
So I made a little airtest video of my new to me 1220X with 3 3/4" coil
Hope you enjoy it.

I always heard those 1220's were hot,But I didn't think they were that hot! I can just Imagine it with the 8'' coil! I also love the modulated audio of the Fisher machine's. I think that was a Dave Johnson invention.

I was surprised at the depth also, I can understand now why the 1260x was so popular in the early 80's.
Can't wait to get some faint wispers in the field.

The Fisher 1220x was my first good detector back in 1982 or 1983. I found a ton of silver with that detector. First trip out with it at my local football field found 2 walking liberty half dollars, a standing liberty quarter with no date and a mercury dime along the sidelines of the field.
When the 1260 came out I got one and sold the 1220. Also had the 1265 and 1266x detectors.... all were great detectors but that 1220x still holds those memories of finding all those silver coins. Loved the sweet sound of a deep silver coin on the 1200 series detectors.

You got a great deal on the detector and a steal on that little coil. Enjoy it and HH..........

Hey Tico!

Very cool! thanks for the video!

I have a 1260X that I have only used once, I am considering selling it because I have a 1235X
and may get a 1236x2 or 1270X and I want to be able to share coils among them.

But now I am not so sure! The 1220 & 1260 are a different breed detector that many swear by.

Who wants to bet I am going to wind up with a whole bunch of detectors that all do well in their environment?
.

Hey Fisherfinder
I also have a 1236X-2, it's a great detector. I picked up the 1220X on a whim and glad I did.
It will be cool to hunt with an old classic.
Hard to beat just about any Fisher 1200 series.

HH, Tico

You're 100% right Tico!

I have found a ton of stuff with my 1235X

You likely know already but the coils for the 1220X & 1260X are interchangeable.

They do not interchange with the rest of the series.... 1225X, 1235X, 1255X, etc.

My 1260X is on eBay now, someone is going to get a nice unit, it's complete and has been well taken care of.
