Airtested fine gold yesterday, Woohooo !! I like it!

Howdy All,
When I first got my Mxt, I ran up into a well known gold area, scouting.
I bumped into a claim owner ,that had a jar with quite a bit of fine gold, and he wanted to see how my Mxt
responded.
I didnt have the "EDGE" book yet, and I really didnt know that much about my detector.
Anyhow , it didnt respond at all.
That sorta stuck with me, I never thought twice about it. I just figured ,the fines were too small.

but lately Ive been reading that alot of people "Air test" to get to know theyre machine.
and , I never did the bench tests in the EDGE book
So I figured , I'd start doing just that.

And yesterday, I pulled out a vial, with just a few specks of fine gold. Fine, flour gold, maybe 8 specks
The largest being about as big as a comma > , < but its a roller, (it'll roll around the pan) so its not flat , and has girth.

And I'll be , now , a year later, after learning my machine a bit more
It will definitely sound off in Hyper SAT, with the ground locked at 83vdi/ the gold speck coming in at 0 to 4 vdi
and , it will pick it up ,out to about an inch to 1 1/2 inches.
and thats on a speck ,this > , < small

I'm pretty excited about my machine again.
I decided , I have to do alot of air tests, to learn how to balance everything, i.e. Gain, SAT, threshold etc.
So I'll be able to adjust ,in the field to the ground I'm in. and ACTUALLY Know what I'm doing.
I did notice, my arm over the coil, in HypSAT will cause a break in the threshold, so I see it is pretty touchy.

But at least, Wooohoo, I can actually see the posibilties.
Nothing like a bit of motivation :detecting:
Just had to tell you guys and gals.

Thanks for readin ,
Dusty.

Mine does quite well with a little sample of small "pickers" even in C&J mode.

Dusty, I was hoping you were going to say that. I've heard of so many using the MXT to find those itsy bitsy specks of gold. Now, go out and fill those vials. HH, Nancy

Go get em Dusty...

Try throwing an Eclipse 5.3 coil on it. I did and the response to small and fine specie gold was excellent. I ended up using it whenever I could and found numerous really nice specimen pieces with it. Great little coil and very underrated on gold!

Yeah , B.T, I am seriously "wanting" the 5.3,,,,,LOL
But, I am making it known that I "need" a better pair of headphones.

Its Christmas, and I already got a new Forge for my business. OH YEAH, It is SWEET !

So, I'm betting , LOL, I'm going to have to use the 6x10 this coming year.

Merry Christmas
Dusty
