have any of you gotton trouble for putting your detector in your carryon bag

I took My X-Terra to Maui ,back in April ...but I did not put it in My Carry-On luggage,
with all the restrictions you might have a problem and this is from an airline employee

Going to Fla. in Sept with two friends to hunt the treasure coast we are flying southwest, each of us are taking 3 detectors in our carryon bags. I called southwest they said no problem but gave me the number of T.S.A. Homeland securty, 1-866-289-9673. They said it's ok to transport & even the rechargeable batts. up to two spares. Give the # a call . Good luck ,
