MAN!!!,Ijust got a used 250 in great shape...this thing HE....LLA......airtest for such a little unit!!!!!!! This could be one of the best little detectors I have an I have a lot!, can"t wait to go out with it!!! Got some weird sounds bong!!!...but the way it air test....is just to unreal!!!!!!! I wonder if it will go deeper with the bigger coil?

This is really strange after using my explorer se...have to play with it some more...I have to turn the headphones way ,otherwise get head ache?It is super quite while swinging , compared to the se. seems a little heavy with the way the coils hangs ...bottom heavy...almost feels like swinging a golf club...maybe because the top is so light?
seems to hit on coins good!..will just have to play around ,with it I guess..............see yah!!!!!

You can quieten it does a fair bit without head phones, just by putting insulation tape over the speaker holes, or just use headphones with a volume control. At first it takes a bit of adjusting to after hearing a Minelab machine.

the explorer & the ace250 make a great combo once you understand what the ace is telling ya it"s hard to put down.

I don't know about a bigger coil, yes generally deeper and more coverage, but the 4.5 sniper coil is a good'n and goes for a reasonable price. Just a hot little coil with good depth for working the more difficult areas.

It is impressive. I've got the 4.5 coming for mine. I bought it based on the good words I've read on it here. Try air testing holding a screw in front of the dime and see how good it hits. I got it loo of an XLT JUST for lazy coin hunting. I have other units to use in hvy trash but I'll give it a shake and see how it does. Yes, the coin gong is going to take a little getting used to. Think of it as a slot machine hitting the jackpot! I think it's the best bang for the buck going. As a general rule I've found more keepers with the $200 machines than my $700 units.....go figure. Took mine out yesterday found some good sounds but could not chip em out of the ground!! :rage: Only 43 some odd days till spring!!
