Air tested and made a cover for my Musky

After reading Woodchucks thread about his Musky it inspired me to air test my Musketeer Advantage. If I turn the sensitivity to maximum my Advantage will "sizzle", I done the air testing in my front yard with the sensitivity set just below where it sizzles and had the discrimination set to minimum. My test were done using clad coins, these results are what I would call a repeating diggable sound.

Quarter 11"
Dime 10"
Nickel 9.5"
Penny 10.5"

I should of took the time to test in all metal mode but I never hunt in that mode.

I was going through my drawers and found a piece of heavy duty leather like fabric and said to myself this would make a nice cover for my Musky, I have the control box mounted under the elbow cuff and hate to sit in down in the damp grass or dirt when I dig my target. I cut three narrow strips of the fabric to use to tie the cover. Its far from professional but it gives me ease of mind when I sit my detector on the ground. Thanks Woodchuck for insiring me to do a air test on my Musky. Steve.

Great idea. That should protect it well. For my GT I was using a homemade stand for it but my headphone cord kept getting caught in it, so I went up to Radio Shack and got some of those stick on rubber feet for faxes machines and such. Stuck two on the bottom of the control box and now it's got extra insurance against shock when setting it on the ground, but I should find some taller stick on ones to no risk of the battery compartment getting moisture from wet grass or something.

Pretty respectable air testing depths for that thing there.

Hey Ski got my Musketeer X yesterday, in nicer shape then expected. It has a interesting beep blip tone over items. For it being a 5 khzs it picked up a small gold ring that I tested on it. I'm going to have to find a musky fish decal to put on it.It is definitely a musky dark green in color LOLI haven't owned a detector in 5khz in awhile can't wait to get out with her. a definite keeper for now.You did a good job on your cover for your musky A
