Air Test

New member
I wonder why doing an air test, I could not pick up a silver dime greater than 6"?

Auto +3. I have had great success the past three days with it but come to think of it, I have not had ANY signals deeper than 7"

Are you indoors where the machine could be getting flooded with EMI?

Yes I was indoors...even on my porch I still couldnt detect a coin deeper than 7" Could my coil be bad or something? Bill S did an air test video and his targets were right on. I did do well these past two days but I still didnt get any targets deeper than 7"

He had his sensitivity on manual and 22.

A while back I did some air testing and the difference in "depth " I was getting between automatic and a higher manual sensitivity was literally astounding, I was doing these tests on my porch also. Since then I almost always try to detect in manual..
Yes, I know air tests aren't completely definitive, but they tell you something, still would think that the ctx should be able to see a dime at seven inches.
