Air Test

I was wondering whenever your setting outside with the v3i would the results be just as good is you took the coil off with cable hooked up to where you can just hold or put it in your lap with pen and paper to keep notes while air testing it would be alot easier instead of all that stretching.I live in a apartment with small yard with underground cables.

I think I know what you are saying. I do most of my air testing with the lower rod disconnected. That way I can simply wave the coin in front of the coil while watching the stationary display. It also allows me to photograph the display with a simple tripod...no elaborate mounting needed.

There would be no difference if the rod was used or not.
