Air test

I konow air test do not mean anything but I wanted to test my minelab against the bounty hunter sharp shooterII. The minelab would give a tone on a nickel , penny and quarter, at a little over 9inch dime right at 9 inch with sensitivty at 30 with 6inch dd coil. Bounty about 6 inch on penny and nickel . Quarter at 7 inch dime barely over 5inches . I could not believe the 6inch dd coil would air test that deep. i know it will go that deep in the ground but just wanted to compare the two. Aw yeah the bounty hunter had a 8 inch coil on it. No wonder I hardly use that thing any more. It does disc real good though that is about it.

I have never been real happy with the depth of my unit and your measurements are more proof in the pudding. On mine using the 6" DD coil only a nickel would air test to a measured 9", a penny and a quarter registered at 8" and a dime at 7". Using the 6" DD coil, my deepest in earth coin find was a penny at a measured 5 1/4" which I had no complaint with, but with the stock coil I've only gained another 3/4's of an inch on my deepest coin find out of over a thousand coins found this year. Not very satisfying, although otherwise I'm quite happy with the machine. It would be interesting to hear what other people's 6" DD coils air tested out to.

I meant to say I know it will not go that deep in the ground.
