Air Test Procedure? For testing coils on the V3i

JV

New member
What is the best way to test to make sure I got a good SEF coil? I have read many people have had problems with SEF coils.
Is an air test the best way to find out if I got a good one? If so, is this the recommended procedure? Would you change anything?
Thanks!

Hold the coil at waist level.
RX gain at 15
TX boost off
3 frequencies on (but also test each of the frequencies individually?).
I want to make sure that the coil is NOT overloading at this RX 15 with the coil in the air..

That is the correct procedure. I don't know if Kellyco considers a coil the won't do RX15 as bad. Mine will actually do The RX15 with boost, however the SEF vary. A coil coil may not do RX15 depending on the EMI in the area.
