Air test on the AT Pro and Gold

Here is what he finds on the air test - what do you think

Decided to do a Air test on the AT Pro and Gold detector's.
some interesting results, should be noted air tests are not as good as ground tests and ground tests vary with moisture, soil minerals etc.
AT Gold in
all metal mode
5x8 coil, a 1 inch in size coin is picked up at 12 inches with ease, faint out to 13 to 14 inches, need good hearing, headphones etc at 14 inches to hear a faint sound change,
in disc 1
5x8 coil you hit a max of 8 inches and no sound after that on same coin
all metal mode
11 inch coil, 12 inch good signal, signal still easy to hear at 13 inch, getting a bit hit and miss around 14 to 15 inches, tried a few coins copper to 14, silver to 15 inch if large 12 to 13 if small in size
disc 1
11 inch coil, 9 inch good signal, gone by 10 inch unless a big coin then you get 11 inch faint.

AT Pro in
zero disc, standard mode
11inch coil, a 1 inch in size coin is picked up at 10 inches loud, a bit hit and miss at 11 inches
zero disc, pro mode
11inch coil, a good sound at 9 inch, faint sound at 11, so a bit hit and miss at 12
But the AT Gold is going deep with the 11 inch dd coil, but also its deeper on both coils than the AT Pro. Another thing to note is the AT Gold is a lot deeper in all metal mode than it being in disc1 mode,
Overall the AT Gold is the deeper detector of the two. So run the AT Gold in all metal mode, using Gray ghost headphones helps, turn up threshold a bit, dig the faintest signal and you will find something deep.

What do you think they will do with the 9x12 coil?

Here is a air test By DirtFishing and I its the stock 9x12 coil in standard mode and Pro mode
and go to you tube and do a search for the AT Pro lots of info on there for all detectors

Thanks for the info on the video.

That was made with the 9x12 concentric coil?

Test between standard 8.5" x 11" AT Pro coil,

here is another test I found

Test between standard 8,5" x 11" AT Pro coil, and optional concentric 9" x 12".
Sorry for poor video quality

Anyone here used the larger 9x12 coil on the ATP? Was wondering how it performed in a real hunt, especially compared to the 8.5x11 DD.

Just a short note here. I noticed in the first video he was moving the target from top to bottom. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the double D coil works better side to side.

It appears that way, and he may have, but I think it's the camera angle. Atleast part of the time.
