When passing a target past coil at home(clear of interference)the cursor will not always repeat location on screen for same target.I was advised to have sens.set on 1 and low thres.but this does not always stabilize the cursor. If the target is only passed once across it makes me wonder if the target will show up in actual use in the field dependably.....Plese disregard in the RE;NEED HELP thread.THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

When passing the under the coil, make sure that you just pass across the center. DO NOT pass the outside of the coil. You will sometimes get a different reading on the edge as the edge of the coil will read the item also.
If you have an X1 probe, use that instead.
Other may have a better answer, but that is my take!

Ron,
I agree with you and was told when doing this to take the coin and go in and out to the center of the coil and not accross it as it may give 2 or more signals while in the learn mode and not give a clean pattern. I will make sure it is set a 1 for sensitivity and do a noise cancel to before I start.

Rick,
Do you use this same procedure for editing? Do you use it out in the field? Do you move the coil up and down from the target lying on the ground in order to teach the instrument to accept/reject it?

When i find a object i want to reject or accept in the feild I will not do it on the ground as there could be other object there too under the soil, so I will pick it up and do it in the air with going in and out to the center of the coil.
Rick
