AIR TEST 5" EXCELL. & 6X9 DD

Ok, it's been a year since zI have air tested my MXT, never needed to. Think me has a problem, for the past month was wondering why I couldn't get any coins deeper than 5". (even started taking the Tesoro Cortez out more often, getting better depth to 8").
And my friend's $200.00 Radio Shack Bounty Hunter was beating my MXT. He was laughing.
Just received my 5" Excellerator coil, thought I would compare it to the White's 6x9 DD that I always use.
Suprise, both won't pick up coins more than 4-5" in an air test. And even put in new batteries. Could have sworn when first purchased new the MXT was getting a coin in the air around 9". Tried every way possible to tune the MXT............
Do I have a problem that needs factory fix'in???
