my routine everyday I go and find somewhere to apply for a job. I started carrying my excalibur with me so every time I saw a Church or park that is of an 1800s vintage I could hit it... so I'm spending a few hours a day detecting.

The churches have given up lot's of deep coins but nothing very old. I'm thinking that "Ray" (EDIT- Ray from Missouri)was right when he said the normal places in this part of Missouri are totally hunted out.
I went back to the spring with the excal and walked a grid over the lower picnic area by the stream. I was surprised that you guys left so much there... but none of what I found is old. Most of this stuff was 4+ inches down.. some even more. This is from about 2 1/2 hrs of detecting at the spring. Not enough to call this a paying job though......
If nothing else I've saved some little kid from getting that dart stuck in their foot.
