Aiming for 4th year in a row for 500 plus nickels

It's going to be a close one this year. Right now I'm at 408. Last two years I busted threw the 600 mark. This year nickels are behind and so is the Gold. I believe this goes hand and hand. Nothing is written in stone but find a area where nickels have been neglected , start rooting like a hog.

that statement about the nickles is a VERY true fact! about a month ago i was hunting a slope in a park and came across a whole huge area that was scattered with them. one of my last "nickle" targets was a gold, diamond, and sapphire ring!

Well it's been painfully slow, but the Inferno broke for 10 nickels today. That makes 453 nickels so far. Best part is , they ran from 5" to 8"" deep. 10 nickels out of 32 deep coins is a pretty good day. This is a old H.School baseball field. Not used much anymore. Absolutely No fresh drops. So there's a chance for some gold.

Whenever I'm notching in a trashy area, I always keep the foil icon- makes the Ace hotter on nickels as well as picking up a few that because of patina and other factors register lower.

That's a good tip, Sling.

You'll hit the mark, no worries

HS concession area. 5x8 coil. The little Devil scraped out 50 coins plus two folded up one $ bills. Total little over $9. Anyways that makes 500 nickels to date this year. So I'm averaging a Gold ring every 250 nickels. Pretty paltry huh ? But that's the way it's going this year. There's always hope though. Not froze in yet, so never know.
