American Heritage Research & Preservation Society (AHRPS) is sponsoring regular monthly get-togethers in the greater Portland, Oregon metro area. These FRRE public meetings, called "Detector Owner Rendezvous" are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month for anyone interested in the metal detecting hobby. The 2 hour meetings with programs related to the hobby start at 8:30 AM. At "high noon" we will get together for a metal detecting outing.

This year's primary fund-raising effort is with a fun and challenging "Research Puzzler Challenge" and can be purchased and downloaded from our website. The $10 Puzzler can entertain you when it's too hot and muggy to get out hunting, or during any period of "cabin fever." Hopefully, it will encourage hobbyists to do more research. The Research Puzzler Challenge comes with a contest entry form for a FREE Random Prize Drawing. The Grand Prize is a brand new :teknetics: T[sup]2[/sup] metal detector!

Our website is continuing to develop and when completed will have a calendar of meetings and locations, as well as a few discussion forums, and educational material. You can visit us at www.ahrps.net and check out and purchase a 4-part puzzler packet. It's detecting season, to be sure, and what better opportunity to get a new, top-end detector or other gear than with a contest?!

Our next regional Detector Owner Rendezvous will be Saturday, July 10th and you can e-mail the AHRPS Director if you would like to be on an e-mail update of the location at: monte@ahrps.net

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!
