I would like to know the age of this lock,Please email me if you have any info.
 
I would say your lock is mid 1800's.Ive dug one at a site that has produced coins from that era.nice find.HH
 
i just wanted to say thnk you for your imput on the lock i did think it was a 1800's lock but from what company?it amazes me what my fisher id-excel will find. i also cant wait until the new probe comes into prodution hopefuly soon it would be a big help finds those coins or dark and deep targets.ok thanks agane.paul

...I looked through them also, and didn't see an exact match. I imagine the ones that do look similar will put you in the right time frame. Good idea to send a pic to the experts! Good luck and be sure to let us know the rest of the story!

hello,i just wanted to let everyone know that i did get info about the old lock i found at a old trash dump site it is called a "smoke house" lock.or wrought iron lock.probably because in the 1800's...their vintage'the smoke house was the most valuable thing you could lock up.wrought iron...because thats what they'er made with.slayer and fraim lock companies were around then. it seems the difference between "hand made"and "manufactured" back then was that hand made meant you had one black smith in the shed and manufactured meant you had more than one out back there.it is a nice collectible lock not too valuable and not rare.but it is a nice bonus to my own collection.thanks too every one for there help. paul from maine
