Afternoon Outing:

Larry and I went for a ride today and found a few places to detect. The weather was a perfect 71 and very little breeze. Sure was nice getting out again. I did manage to come home with some interesting finds. The three Wheat cents, 59-D Rosie, an old pin that I can make out "USDA GRADE A" on it then the old Missouri Sales Tax Receipt token. I'm sorry for the poor picture of it. Maybe I can clean it up a bit more. A handful of clad coins and misc. items. Oh, I forgot the silver ring with a ying - yang stone design. I don't know what some of the items are. Like that huge round piece of lead......What in the world is it?

good job, Nancy I don't know what the round piece of lead is, but that square key looks like a John Deere key.

Thanks and we hit two older homes and then hit a playground to end the day. It's been a long time since I've gone detecting. I'm still under doctor's care and not working and he says I can't go back the entire scool year. Well, that's not too far away. A couple weeks or so. Anyway....it sure was nice getting out. Nancy

I can shed some light on Nancy's finds. The large key is for room 203 at some motel and the lead disc is from a clock. It is the weight on the pendulum and it has the slot on the back for the other part to slide through. It adjusts up and down to speed up or slow down the swing.
