This afternoon, went to a very old school site I've hunted before. With the help of a local, able to find where the old ball field used to be (now grown over with trees). All I could find was wheaties so I called it the 'wheat field.' Was able to find a total of 11 wheat pennies (most in poor condition and 1940ish dates) all 6-7" down and a 1945d Wartime Silver Nickel which was under a tree root at 4". Used the 5.3 coil to work around trees & bushes. Thanks for looking. CCH

Nice work EJ. That's a lot of wheats for one hunt...plus a war nick as a bonus ! Good huntin...

Great hunt and I love seeing those war nickels rescued. Great finds.......and I too love that 5.3 coil. It's a keeper for sure. HH, Nancy

Nice finds EJ. The nickel looks in good shape for a 45. I got a lot of wheaties in good shape for a while, now most are eaten up with limerock that we have
