After using the quattro its been the most user friendly machine so far

well ive used several other machines and for some reason the Quattro just seems so user friendly and easy to find things with. After having used manny detectors i find the quattro simple yet powerful. I will admit the processing time is a bit slow at times but it makes up for it in quarters etc etc. Also recently added the 8inch minelab coil to it and its great for parks and trashy areas. Like it better than the stock coil makes it lighter easier to swing and hits nickels more than the stock coil. One thing that is great about the Quattro is how it at times seems pretty quiet compared to other detectors. Also it ids fairly well. well gota hit the beach thats were ive seen the quattro shine.

I use the 800 coil as the standard setup now for my Quattro, On the beach i use my 15 x 12 SEF, it is superb on the beach, i use Conductive audio, coin and jewelry mode, accept all but -10,you can safely reject this. that way you still get the icons for assistance if required but are effectively running all metal.
High tones-high numbers - dig -good target
High tone Low number-Will be iron, But worth diging down to -5 depending on the site,
Low tone- dig all.

Use the icons for guidance

I have upgraded?.to an E-trac a very different machine, lighting fast, very deep, i'm still to grasp anything like the true potential of the e-trac, but for now its always my trusty quattro that comes to the beach with me to play. (along with my kids who back fill the holes for me ;-)...)

Enjoy your quattro, once learnt, theres very little you won't find that an explorer wont, with the right coil combination.
I have tried the pro coil on it,in manual you can crank up the sensitivty, its very stable, and depth is as good as the Bigger SEF,(on the quattro) its also very light.
