After thirty years the wading is over

I wanted to get out detecting today for a bit, but didn't feel like being out in a field under the sun sweating, so I figured I would go back in the water like I used to when I first got my CTX.
I went back to a stream that had produced a handful of modern coinage a couple years ago and couldn't believe my eyes when I found a three center in my hand! After a short quiet celebration (being that this was the first one I have found in thirty years of detecting) I continued detecting downstream and found the large colonial button .

It is amazing how just another day of detecting when you aren't expecting much can change so quickly and end up being one to remember.
