After market coil question

Elton

New member
The small coils not made by Minelab..are they multiple frequency coils for the Se, Safari, Exp II, etc..or are they one(1) frequency pickup and send that works in the parameters of the machine. ??

Figured everyone knew the answer but me..

This is totally an educated guess EL, but I think none of the coils, Minelab included are multifrequency since ML uses an FBS, time domain system and not a frequency domain.
Minelab is pretty tight-lipped how radiating 16, 28, or 100 frequencies has anything to do with the time domain system. In electronics school, I was taught that emitting harmonics, (spurious radiation), was considered poor electrical design and other than keeping other detectorist away from you and your Minelab, has little, if any, advantages.

I was just seeing that when sending to the ground signals..they depict 28 all at once transmitted.I assume only the frequency that hits a target is received.
I wondered if the after market coils allowed the 28 frequency transmit..or just sent one.. IE: 5 : DD

Thanks............
