After a few hours on the T2

Tom E IL

New member
I made a choice on the T2, is not what I like in a detector, just like the Explorer II wasn't for me.Dont get me wrong its a great unit. There are some things I dont like about the T2 and its all personal things and not the T2. Thinking I should have got the 1500.
Thank You
Tom Spencer

I'm really liking mine, but it depends on your soil mineralization. If it's really nasty soil, you might want to consider the 2500 with manual ground balance.

Tom,

Like Big Red says give it some time and learn what it is telling you and you may be surprised at what this detector can do. I don't have a lot of time on mine and I do dig a lot of iron too, but i can see where in the learning stage you have too like any detector to know which iffy signal to dig a which not to. Even with the little I have used it i have got more coins with it then any of my other detector with many new coins, but have got my one and only gold ring this year with it and a 1897 IH penny too.
I use to have several Garrett's over the years, the GTI 2000, the GTI 1500 and the GTI 2500 and after over 50 hours on each I wouldn't trade my Teknetics T-2 for one as I feel the T-2 is deeper, more sensitive and better ID, at least for me it is from the little I have used it.

Well you don't mention what it is that you don't care for so it's hard to know how to respond.

I've tried a number of detectors, and I must say the T2 is about the easiest one to learn I've ever used. It's as light and well-balanced as they come, goes deep in mineralized soil, and is killer in sniffing the good stuff from the junk. For my area, and my needs that is truly ideal. Your area and needs might be very different. I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I do think you might wanna give it more than a few hours, but of course that is up to you.
