I don't post alot on the forums. I just enjoy reading all the posts that you people place on the forums, especially this one. I was out today at a local park that has been pounded by myself and many others. Dug an "iffy" target and could not believe my eyes. It was not a pull tab! It was a ring - and a very nice one at that. I looked for the telltale signs of "flaking" and could not see any, so I suspected that I had finally found a good one. Getting home quickly, I washed the ring and found my magnifier (my eyes aren't what they used to be), and it was verified 14K. Blown away, and still could not believe it.
I attribute this find to three things. 1. Persistance with digging trash. I have dug enough trash over the years to fill a garbage truck. 2. My machine is a Tesoro Cibola running at 14 khz, an ideal frequency for gold. I also use the cleansweep coil and cover ground faster. 3. Just plain old luck, and I say a little prayer to god to allow me to find something good. That's about it folks. Just remember to run your disc just above iron and dig junk.
