Affordable underwater detector?

poptab

New member
Was looking for a semi-affordable machine (most of the underwater detectors are more expensive than the land ones) that
I could skim around underwater with. Something small and not to bulky.

Anybdy try the VIBRA-TECTOR 730 Pulse Induction Detector?

It's small and cheap...but does it work?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

VT730 is NOT detector. It is PINPOINTER. To be used AFTER a target was located with detector.

Cheap will only get you a hole in your pocketbook. White's, Minelab, DetectorPro, Garrett.......all have good underwater detectors but they cost money. If you want to get into the hobby then you must be willing to spend the money. A good machine will pay for itself with the treasure you find.

Since I live in NY finding a treasure is out of the question for me, but having quality machines (MXT and Dual Field) pays me in a different way - with satisfaction of working with quality intelligent high-tech equipment, like having eyes underground and without error locating and finding things 5``-15`` below my feet. Be it even pull tabs or beer caps - does not matter!

I return home happier than I was before leaving to hunt.

don't ponder the situation, just bite the bullet! i recently did. just sacrificed a 7 year collection to get funds for my whites surfmaster pi pro. it all began with a fisher cz that got me interested. when i began finding things, my hunger grew as i watched my friend in envy (hunting the wet), which i couldn't do. i just had to do it. it should arrive early next week. i'll be posting my finds, you can count on that!!! the ipod was my most recent kind find.

micro..i'm a newbie myself...but you say no chance of finding treasure in ny?????
the areas surrounding you are rich in history....
might have to drive...but i'd give a few teeth to be on the east coast.....lol
good luck

They are rich. It is true. But everything is off limit here for a taxpayer. Read the permit given by NY Department of Parks. It is called Permit. But if you follow it , NO PLACE AT ALL IS ALLOWED (permitted) TO DETECT. So, basically, each time you go out with your MD (except one small trashy Orchard Beach for poor people with fake jewelry) you expose yourself to some LE action and to confiscation your machine.

Try it if you wish. Call for beginning to the Department of Parks of Westchester County ( that is size of an average European country) and ask about MDing. And then tell us the result..

For me it is total mistery why people buy metal detectors here, who do not have two-three overseas vacations a year. To collect $0.75 after a day of swinging in Orchard Beach?

Me, personally, I count days until my next trip abroad. Otherwise I`d sell my Dual Field and MXT long time ago. They are not needed. There is no use for these highly intelligent machines.
