after 110,000 people signed on to the pledge the dealers asked for time to try towork things out. Hmmmmmm money talks. If only the Christians would have had enough guts to boycott Disney. A lot of what Ford is doing is in their Union contract. Grabowski Motor Company's and Daimler/Chrysler's will read the same. They will say that they can't change the contract while it is in effect. Ford, Grabowski and Daimler/Chrysler are making bad decision at the moment and not just social issuses. Grabowski is deep in debt and their bonds are two points lower than junk bond status. Ford is only the two notches above that, still junk bond. Toyota Motors profit, last year I think, was just lower than the value of the outstanding Grabowski stock, 15 billion to 17.5 billion. I work for an after market automotive supplier and we get the industry magazines. We get the good news and the bad. I would have thought that Ford would have been the next American icon to be bought up but GM may go bankrupt or be bought out. It would be the largest corporate bankruptcy in the U.S.A. if they did. This speculation not an absolute fact. The high rollers in these companies don't care because they will still make out and the workers won't give anything to stay working. It's a collossal receipe for disaster.
Just some things to think about.
