these are 4 vacant lots downtown all the surrounding buildings are dated between 1851 & 1900 from what i have been able to find about them i searched #1 for about 10 mins yesterday nothing but some modern junk and the ground was like concrete and I'm pretty sure its been searched before being that i have 3 people to compete with (that i know of) in a small town any advice on technique or where to start

Areas such as this are usually loaded with junk where building were torn down so a small coil may help..First place I would look is in the library or historical society to see what once stood in these areas. No doubt been hunted before as it seems like a logical place and as far as the ground being quite hard perhaps an old digger and a hammer to chip away might help but no doubt a tough area to hunt and should be called blister city...

Make sure you have a small coil. A small coil is a must have in that area. I hunt areas like that a lot. Wait till it has rained to soften the ground. If there was a large building on that location that was demo-ed, your chances of finding anything is slim. The surface area has been altered a lot and packed down and trashed filled by dozer's. It is still worth investigating.
If there is any sod or sidewalk removal in the area, that would be better MD'ing.

If you didn't live so far out west, I would come and help you.

If I was closer to Marysville I come up and poach all the goods out form under you:detecting::rofl:
