Advice, Surveillance Interference

Hello all, I received permission to coin hunt around an old estate built in 1840-1850, and it is surrounded by live wire security fences among other surveillance devices. I started hunting in coin search and deep silver and I was chirping on almost every swing. I was receiving hits that were reading VDI +83 and then on the next swing it would read iron and sometimes I would lose the hit. The ground did have many golf ball size rocks, would that give me false readings? After an hour or so I started detecting around an old elm tree and was able to pull a 1919 Wheatie. I feel like I should be finding much more but I am sure I'm not using the correct settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ron in Henrietta NY

Look for previous posts about EMI or better yet, use the SEARCH feature for EMI. Here are a couple of ideas. One, look for the quietest frequency offset:

How to find the quietest frequency offset.

Press ZOOM-UP to show/expand the Live Control Bar.
Scroll over to Transmit Frequency-Offset
Pull the trigger to get into Pinpoint mode
Go through the offsets and look for the setting that gives the least pinpoint noise
Press ZOOM-DOWN to hide/minimize the Live Control Bar when done

Try the single frequencies and see if one works better than others, try reducing the gain and sensitivity.

I recently had a similar experience. Try raising up the hot rock adjustment a few notches. You may also want to raise up the filter a notch (or two). See if this helps.

Hi there Ron. Your description of the site certainly poses problems for any detector and detectorist, regardless of their experience.

First, can you collect a couple of those
