Advice/Opinions Requested...Diamond Tester

I want to buy one. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg but I also want one that works. The ability to test other gems would be nice too but not a hard requirement. Who is using what and how does it work for you?

Ron, I just bought the same scale as you off ebay...looks like a decent one. Thanks.

Here's a listing of diamond testers...that Presidium for $153 sounds nice but nice price too. Any opinions appreciated.

Mike I have a CZcheckpoint and it seems to work fine. It does not test for moissanite though or other preciuos stones. It is kinda uncommon, so I don't think it's a big deal, but could be a more prevalent issue in the future. Seems like I paid about $100 last year from a jewelry supply source. I think Max has a similar 1, but mine does not plug into anything, uses batteries.

Mine only tests for diamonds and I wish I had purchased a tester that did more. It was only $80 used, which is cheap here.
With the loot you're bringing in now you should get something that will be truly useful, it will pay for itself in next to no time.

That is the same model my wife bought me for Christmas last year but I do not know what she paid for it but I really like it and it works great.

I own that Presidium that you are looking at and I think its great, Its more than just a diamond tester it has saved me the expense of going to a jeweler and paying $45 each time I have found a ring with stones :)
