advice on tomorrows hunt

I'm working a beach where a very expensive ring was lost two years ago.The area it was lost in is about 200 sq meters or say 2000 sq ft. The area is pretty high and dry so odds are it hasn't gone far,(I'm thinking in their search to find it,the owners pushed it deeper).

The owners searched for it with rakes and shovels for a week when they lost it and zilch,so the intel I have on it is that it is still there.
I have been to the beach once, last week, and at that visit,I put the 705 on IM so I could get a little more depth, and when I hit a target, would go to coin and treasure mode, check the number, and dig it in an effort to clean the area to make it easier in trying to find this jewel.
I think what is left in the area pretty much are deep targets so tomorrow ,my plan is to try and locate them and dig them.
Any advice from the veterans would be appreciated greatly.

Maybe not much help as I have not hunted beaches.
I would run a 5 x 10 or 10.5, 18.75 DD if you have one. With the CC I would not advance any more than 1/2 the coil diameter. In prospecting you should move real slow (or so they say). I don't know if the beach GB setting would help in the dry sand or not. I would scan that area from 2 or 3 directions. I am not entirely sure if running auto tracking is as deep as just correctly GBing. I intend on playing around with that this year. Maybe go over the area with different coils.

The ring could be sitting at an angle that will make it harder to hear or ID.

There is a fair chance some other MDer has found it. I would not let that stop me from looking though, you may find others.

Grid out the sand plot with about a 4 to 6 feet long wood stick or small diameter hollow metal pipe by dragging it along the ground(sand). About 3 or 4 feet between grid lines. When detecting as you finish each row, put an X at the end of that row to show it has been done.

Use the round 10.5" HF DD or 9" HF Concentric for the most depth on gold rings.

If you know about what + # number the ring is, you could knotch(block out) out all the other numbers. Either Tracking or Auto GB or Manual GB will do, but Manual GB will be a bit deeper and will need to be manually tuned at intervals.

Or yes use Prospecting Mode for the most depth(watch out that too much IM might block out that ring). Yes Jeff, Prospecting Mode requires a slower sweep than C & T Mode.

And yes you can use the Prospecting Mode to find a target, then examine that signal with the C & T Mode to check the # number.

I found a gold wedding ring for a lady at the beach once. When I found it she hugged me! Good luck!
