[size=large]kyle, one thing about the 13" DD is it's new. has no track record. the science has been, the larger the coil the worse it is for trashy ground. don't matter DD or not. do a reality check. how deep are your targets really gunna be? relic hunting is done in areas mostly with a lot less trash. you do need to be able to go deep. your parks and schools are gunna be trashy. you're looking at deep being 6"-10"? you'll also get better pin pointing the smaller the coil. less trash more ground is covered with the bigger coils in less time. i'd go with the average coils. these are the ones where folks have found the best amount of targets when hunting like you are gunna do. the 6x10 has a very good track record. we have high minerials here in the s.w. corner of washington state and my D2 does great for all around use. so far it's been about the coils. one does need to remember the settings. too much can be as bad as too big a coil. putting myself in your shoes i'd go with the 6x10. it's the one coil constantly mentioned for best all around use to begin with. just get it and start hunting. you'll do well with it and can save for the other coils as you go along. if you end up thinking you need another.
