Advice on a Water Detector

Aaron

Well-known member
Guys,
I want to buy a water detector, I will only go to the ocean maybe once a year, and I will only use it to wade, maybe try diving, not more than 8 ft. I have a GT Sov already, Im thinking a Excaliber would be overkill (and alot of extra $$$$), even though I would be used to it already from using the GT. I kinda leaning towards a Tiger Shark. What do you guys think? Thanxs! Aaron

I had the Excalibur 800, used it about 6 years in the water, does very well for me on Gold items, great tones,,so thats the reason purchased a Sov/WOT, same sounds, great depth for beach & shallow water to knee deep. I just upgraded to the SOV/GT and purchased another WOT coil. I've never used the Tiger Shark, but do use a Troy X5 in the water (fresh) chest mounted with a "DD" coil. Good luck in your decision! H.H.:)

Thanks for the input, I think I'm set on the Excal., I will be going to the ocean at least once or twice a year, but the most important thing to me is the tones that the Excal. has, and I am already using a GT so I would practically be using the same machine. Thanks, Aaron
