Adventures of the D :detecting:

Well I still love swinging the SE... I took the day off work today because the weather it to nice for work, it's for detecting  I went down town to the park I got a little drunkin show at the other day.. I was really hoping for some oldies because of the Indian and the eagle button I found last time.
This park is a pretty hard park to hunt.. tons of junk in the ground.. plus its right on the middle of two streets so you get all kinds of chatter from the electrical lines.
But I ignored the chatter and creeped my way around the park.. Trying to listen for deep hit as well as keep an eye on my surrounding.. "never know when some crazy is going to jump on ya" lol I started finding deep wheat's here and there.. I also pulled this neat little piece of metal you see in the pics.. It said Trade with Abe Herzstam. I always seemed to find these random little items.. The best find of the day was the worst signal of the day lol I was right up on the edge of the park, when I hit the corner I turned. As soon as I turned the SE gave out nice little scream that got my attention.. I stopped and rechecked the target.. It wasn't too deep just really jumpy.. The cursor was going low, then hitting over in the iron side, then jumping over in the right hand corner.. It did this from every direction.. The SE was also making all kinds of different noises.. But that one little spot where i could hear a little scream was enough to make me dig.. I opened up the plug with my Predator digger.. "love that thing" as soon as i opened it I could see silver.. I reached in and grabbed it.. When i picked it up another coin fell off the top of it.. It had a Jefferson nickel laying on across it.. You can see the discoloration the nickel left on the back side of the quarter. After pulling out that quarter I was happy, didn't care if I found another coin lol Know it is time to go get lunch and head back out :detecting:

Thanks for taking a look!
Good luck
Derrell

Oh the lead thing on the very bottom of the first pic.. Is that a button?? I seem to come across those often!

Thanks
Derrell

Nice job, D. Congrats on striking silver!

Hey "D"
Glad to see your up to your adventurous ways again...who knows what you may find next! Just try not to get too much dirt on your clothes. I have to admit though that I want to see you finding some silver with that E trac of yours. You havent sold it have you?

get em!

Question for those of you with both the etrac and explorer. Does the Etrac also produce that same type of squeek or warble sound on the difficult silver targets?

My guess would have been a curtain weight. Now you are just showing off Darrell :surprised: Nice finds. My wife kept me busyyyyy washing and waxing cars then an auction. Thats said i still got 45 mins in today.... 1 wheat and 1 1894 barber. Looks like you are still tearing it up.

Dew

Dew I need to hunt with you more so I can learn how to fond the old stuff.. No more mercs and washingtons lol. Thanks buddy!!

Nice finds derrelld.

Nice hunt, Derrell!! :super:

I love finding the Washingtons....it always shocks me when I see that the reeded edge is larger than an dime in my plug.

That park is definitely worth a return trip!!

Good luck on your next hunt!
